The 11Days Chimpanzee Habituation & Wildlife Safari- Western Circuit evolves around 3(three) Uganda safari destinations namely; Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park & Lake Mburo National Park all located in Western Uganda.

The name of the Safari Tour is derived from the fact that this Safari in Uganda begins with chimpanzee habituation experience which involves the traveler with upto 12hrs of the day with the chimpanzee; this will normally begin in the early hours of 6-630 with a quick briefing and thereafter proceeding to meet the chimpanzees in their nests, see them feed, hunt, rest and later laying their nests.

The Safari tour will not only evolve around the chimpanzees and Gorillas but will also allow the travel on safari in Uganda to explore wildlife with spectacular activities like Lion/predator tracking, a sundowner on Kazinga Channel, etc

Kibale Forest National Park

Located in Western Uganda, Kibale Forest National Park protects a clammy undyingly green rain forest. Covering and area of about 767 square Kilometers ranging between 1,100 metres to 1,600 metres in elevation the rain forest is a habitat to one of the biggest communities of the chimpanzees in Uganda considered to be the highest diversity and concentration of primates in Africa with a successful tracking rate of 90%. Some of the Examples of primates in Kibale Forest National Park include; common chimpanzees (endangered), diademed/ blue monkey, Black white Colobus monkeys, lohoests monkey, etc.

Kibale Forest National Park does not only host primates but also minimal populations of African forest elephants, red and blue duikers, bush pigs, etc. 

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Located in South Western Uganda Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts among the most popular tourist destinations in Uganda engaging traveler on safari in Uganda with a number of activities for example boat cruises, Day and night guided game drives that may chance travelers to seeing tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector etc.

Bwindi Impentrable Forest National Park

Located in South-western Uganda is home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas situated along the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) border next to the Virunga National Park and on the edge of the Albertine Rift.

There mainly four sectors in this park namely Buhoma Sector, Ruhija Sector, Rushaga sector and Nkuringo sector in the North, East, South &West respectively.

All the above sectors have different family groups that are all trekked in the search of these mighty gentle giants (Gorillas in Uganda).

Lake Mburo Safari Lodge

This is Uganda’s Smallest National Park and is habitat to numerous wildlife for example the Topi, Eland, Giraffe plus Zebra & is a habitat to over 300 bird species including the African Fish Eagle, crested francolin, Red necked spurfowl etc.

Lake Mburo National Park is located west of Uganda and is the closest amongst all national Parks of Uganda.

  • After lunch transfer to Irungu for Sundowner.
  • Later return to the lodge for your dinner & overnight.

Day8

  • Breakfast, then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National par.
  • Arrival, then dinner & overnight.

Day9

  • Breakfast, quick briefing then Gorilla trekking in Uganda.
  • Return to the lodge for dinner & overnight.

Day10

  • Breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
  • Arrival, check in then have lunch.
  • Spend entire afternoon at leisure.
  • Dinner & overnight at the lodge.

Day11

  • Breakfast, then biking/cycling safari.
  • Spend afternoon at leisure.
  • Dinner & overnight.

Day12

  • Breakfast, then Horse-riding safari in the park.
  • Lunch, then spend entire afternoon at leisure.
  • Dinner & overnight.

Day13

  • Breakfast, then transfer to Kampala.
  • Do souvenir shopping.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1:

Arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will then be picked up your guide and will be transferred to your overnight accommodation in Kampala.
Accommodation: Villa Kololo.
Activities: N/A.
Driving Time: Upto 2hrs.

Day2:

0800hrs
After an early morning breakfast, you will meet with your guide/driver who will transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park; On arrival you will check-In to your accommodation.

Later you will have your dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Turaco tree tops.
Activities: N/A.
Driving time: Upto 6hrs

Day3:

0600hrs
After breakfast, you will head to the briefing area; here you have a quick brief and thereafter do the Chimpanzee Habituation experience in Uganda, and this will last you the whole day.

Depending on what time you finish the experience, you will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day4:

0800hrs
After breakfast, you will embark on a tour of the Crater Lakes; Lake Nyabikere, Lake Nyinabulitwa plus Lake Nyamirima & thereafter also do a tour of the coffee plantations.

Later depending on how long it takes you will return to the lodge for your Dinner & overnight.
Accommodation: Turaco tree tops.
Activities: Crater Lakes & Tea plantations tour.
Driving time: Upto 2hrs.

Day5:

0700hrs
After a hefty breakfast, you will head out to Bigodi for swamp walk; here expect sightings of upto 250 bird’s species and various primates and monkeys such as the Red Colobus, Black and White Colobus, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Red Tailed Monkey, Vervet Monkey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, and Blue Monkey etc.

Depending on what you see during the walk, you will return to the lodge for your lunch.
After lunch, you embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park; on arrival here, you will check into your accommodation and later have your dinner & overnight.
Accommodation: Elephant Plains Lodge.
Activities: Bigodi Swamp walk.
Driving time: upto 4hrs.

Day6:

0630hrs
After breakfast, you will head out to the park; here you will meet with your tracker and thereafter begin your Lion/Predator tracking in Uganda.

Depending on how long the tracking takes, you will return to the lodge for your lunch.

After lunch, you will head out to the park again and do an afternoon Game drive and depending on what you see, you will return to the lodge for your dinner & overnight.
Accommodation: Elephant plains Lodge.
Activities: Lion/predator tracking, Afternoon game drive in the parking
Driving time: Upto 9hrs

Day7:

0700hrs
After your breakfast, you will head out to Kyambura George; here you will attend a quick brief and thereafter do your Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda.

Depending on how long the tracking takes you will return to the lodge for your lunch.

After lunch, you will spend the early afternoon at leisure and later head out for a boat cruise/sundowner on the renowned Kazinga Channel; here expect to see numerous wildlife.

Later you will return to the lodge for dinner & overnight.
Accommodation: Elephant Plains Lodge.
Activities: Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda/Kyambura George, Sundowner on Kazinga channel.
Driving time: Upto 3hrs

Day8:

0800hrs
After a hefty breakfast and with a packed lunch, you will embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park; on arrival here, you will check into your accommodation and thereafter spend the entire afternoon at leisure.

Later you will have dinner and overnight.
Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Camp.
Activities: N/A.
Driving time: Upto 6hrs

Day9:

0700hrs
After breakfast, you will head out to the briefing area; here you will attend a quick brief and thereafter start your Gorilla trekking in Uganda.

Depending on how long this trek will last, you will return to meet with your guide who will then transfer you back to lodge.

Later you will have dinner & overnight.
Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Camp.
Activities: Gorilla Trekking in Uganda.
Driving time: Upto 1hrs

Day10:

0800hrs
After breakfast and with lunch enroute at the Igongo cultural center and museum, you will embark on a journey to Lake Mburo National park; here you will check-in to your lodge and thereafter spend the entire afternoon/evening at leisure.

Later you will have dinner & overnight.
Accommodation: Mihingo Safari Lodge.
Activities: N/A
Driving time: Upto 5hrs

Day11:

0700hrs
After breakfast, you will head out to do a biking safari within the park; here expect to encounter numerous wildlife; this might last you upto 3hrs.

Depending on how long the tour takes, you will return to the lodge for your lunch. After lunch, you will spend the entire afternoon at leisure.

Later you will have your dinner & overnight.
Accommodation: Mihingo safari Lodge.
Activities: Biking Safari in Uganda.
Driving time: N/A

Day12:

After breakfast, you will again head out to do a Horse-riding safari with in the park; here expect to encounter numerous wildlife; this might last you upto 2hrs.

Depending on what you see, you will return to the lodge for your lunch and thereafter spend the entire afternoon at leisure.

Later you will have your dinner & overnight at the lodge.
Accommodation: Mihingo Safari Lodge.
Activities: Horse riding Safari in Uganda.

Day13:

0800hrs
After your breakfast, you will meet with your driver guide and embark on a journey to Kampala; enroute will be a stopover at the Equator.

You will arrive in Kampala in the afternoon; On arrival, you will visit one of crafts villages to collect your souvenirs and later on head to Entebbe International airport for your flight.

Activities: Stopover at the Equator, souvenir shopping.
